EN// "Spritesheets" is a series of pixel-based digital graphics from 2019 to 2021. The works are created with an app which was developed for 8- and 16-bit game design. The app is based on a grid for building so called "spriteheets". These graphics were used in early video-games to safe storage space. On those graphics all components of a game were listed. The code could use these graphics to give each component its place on the surface which the player could see. These spritesheets have a strong fascination in their aesthetics. Not only you can see a game stripped to its graphical core, in the same time you wonder what will be happening in the game with these components. So the viewers have to fullfill the possibilities in their heads. Based on these interests Markus Heller created a series of graphics from 2019 to 2021 which he simply calls "Spritesheets". The graphics are printed on Munken Paper via 12 colored Fine Art Print.
